Original Title: Visión desde el fondo del mar

A journey into multiple journeys, this book is a compendium and an amalgamation of very diverse experiences centring upon the author’s life. Convinced by the intimate truth heard from the lips of a fisherman – “If a whirlpool takes hold of you as you are swimming, do not resist. Just let yourself be swallowed up. When you reach its heart, it will throw you upwards, and that is how you will be saved” – Rafael Argullol decides to place the focal point of his observation on the bottom of the sea, in the deepest spot in the human being, going in search for the bright gleam of existence. A veritable spiritual adventure, this vision, made up of fragments of an unfinished journey, takes on the multiple forms of writing in a complex ramification that questions itself and also intuits answers. Written by hand, with the slowness of one who goes after pulchritude and impulse, what is offered here is the consciousness of the cloud that aspires to harmony.

Praises

«Here, more than anywhere else in his work, we find his nomadic way of thinking and his transversal way of writing. In it, essay, narrative and poetry exist together in a sole literary volume».
Albert Lladó, La Vanguardia

«The book tells, in great detail, of a journey undertaken into the most revealing centre of the self. Argullol’s narrative attains it with a mastery that is as pleasant as the tone that he has chosen in order to implicate us in his bare exercise of interrogation».
Basilio Baltasar, El País

«Here he is in the process of recreating and reconstructing his real house, the house of his soul. The story lies situated on the border between what has been lived and the beginnings of moral fables which every sparkling of memory produces. Faced with its Biblical model, Argullol’s text could be regarded as a book of wisdom».
Eugenio Trías, ABC Cultural

«A book of arrivals and presences which offer to sensitive men the opportunity to create a serene quantity of thought and poetry. Fortunately, the world is capable and worthy to be written about».
Fernando Aramburu, El Mundo
