Original Title: El cazador de instantes
The Man Who Hunted Instants, the first instalment of what Rafael Argullol calls his Notebook of Crossings, is at the same time a compass for thought and a voyage across the genres. By means of a mixture of poetry, ideas and narrative, he puts into play a peculiar adventure across memory in the search for his own myth, for the breaks in time by way of which the profundity of life can be liberated. With a perfect communion between images and ideas, the book is an extremely personal journey that absorbs the reader, at the same time as it will amaze him, through its very special beauty.
«Three hundred and sixty fragments full of vitality and non-conformism, of aristocratic individualism and of mystical, metaphysical communion, of Baroque disenchantment and of romantic passion. And, above all, of truth, of literary truth and of vital truth, something that is by no means to be sneezed at nowadays».
Lluís Bassets, El País
«What we have here is a book that, at the very least, is a surprise in these times of cultural triviality, a book with a strange poetic and meditative intensity».
Robert Saladrigas, La Vanguardia
«Argullol is a huntsman in search of aesthetic moments within ages of shipwrecks».
José Ribas, El Mundo
«A beautiful book of aphorisms, very many of which strike me as being real jewels».
Pedro Madrigal, Archipiélago
«He opens up the best possible opportunities for personal reflection: a kind of shaker up of ideas. Argullol shares with us the compass for a marvellous journey».
