Àngel Quintana (b. Torroella de Montgrí, 1960) is Professor of the History and Theory of Cinema at the University of Girona, with a doctorate in Communicative Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He undertook his post-doctoral studies at the University of Paris III and contributes to several publications. He is also the coordinator of the Spanish edition of Cahiers du cinéma. Between 1993 and 1998 he was President of the Catalan Association of Critics and Writers on Cinema. In Acantilado he has published his books Fables of the Visible. The Cinema as Creator of Realities (2003) and After Cinema. Image and Reality in the Digital Age (2011).
