Irene Polo

Irene Polo (Barcelona, 1908 – Buenos Aires, 1942) worked as a journalist in Barcelona where she stood out for the columns and current affairs articles she wrote in various media outlets of the times. In 1936 she went to South America where she took charge of organising the tours of Margarida Xirgu’s theatre company through almost all the republics of the continent. Unable to return to Spain, she settled in Buenos Aires, where she ended her own life in 1942 at the age of thirty-three.
