Edgardo Cozarinsky

Edgardo Cozarinsky (Buenos Aires, 1939-2024), prolific cinematographic and literary author, studied Literature in Buenos Aires and moved in the circles of Silvina Ocampo, Bioy Casares, and Borges. After making his first underground film, he went into exile in Paris where he continued to work in cinema. After returning to Argentine, he published Urban Voodoo in 1985. This unclassifiable work, somewhere between essay and fiction, soon became a cult classic. Throughout his career, he received numerous awards in Argentina and abroad, among them the Gabriel García Márquez Spanish-American Short Story Award.
