The initiative, which is to have its own stand, will draw attention to and publicise the authors and literature of Catalonia.<\/p>\n<p>One of the world\u2019s most notable events in the publishing sector, the London Book Fair is to be held from 5 to 7 April. All the guest authors will speak with British writers about such questions as literature of the self, the classics, genre and identity in fiction, and illustration in children\u2019s non-fiction books.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/authors\/josep-maria-esquirol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Josep Maria Esquirol<\/a> will take part in two discussions on 5 April. The first, moderated by Daniel Hahn, will be with writer Jay Griffiths at 4.30 p.m. in the Fair\u2019s Literary Translation Centre. The second, with Christian Michel, organiser of philosophical debates at the French Institute in London, will be at 7 p.m., in the bookshop Burley Fisher Books.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/authors\/sergi-pamies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sergi P\u00e0mies<\/a> will also take part in two conversations, one on Thursday 7 April and the other on Friday 8 April. The first, moderated by Georgina Godwin, will be with the writer David Constantine at 3.25 p.m. in the Fair\u2019s Literary Translation Centre. The second, moderated by Gala Sicart, will be with the writer Ed Vulliamy at 6.30 p.m. in the Frontline Club.<\/p>\n<p><u><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-876 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SergiPamies-244x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SergiPamies-244x300.jpg 244w, https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/SergiPamies.jpg 660w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 187px) 100vw, 187px\" \/><\/u><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/authors\/sergi-pamies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sergi P\u00e0mies<\/a> (Paris, 1960) has published with Quaderns Crema the short story collections <em>T\u2019hauria de caure la cara de vergonya<\/em> (in English, <em>Losing Face<\/em>, 1993), <em>Infecci\u00f3<\/em>, <em>La gran novel\u00b7la sobre Barcelona<\/em> (winner of the Serra d\u2019Or Critics\u2019 Prize), <em>L\u2019\u00faltim llibre de Sergi P\u00e0mies<\/em>, <em>Si menges una llimona sense fer ga\u00f1otes <\/em>(City of Barcelona and Gold Letter prizes)<em>, La bicicleta est\u00e0tica <\/em>(Maria \u00c0ngels Anglada Prize)<em>, Can\u00e7ons d\u2019amor i de pluja<\/em>,<em> L\u2019art de portar gavardina <\/em>(in English, <em>The Art of Wearing a Trench Coat<\/em>, 2021), and the novels <em>La primera pedra <\/em>(winner of the Icarus Prize), <em>L\u2019instint<\/em> (Prudenci Bertrana Prize), and <em>Sentimental<\/em>. His work has been translated into French, Spanish, English, German, Italian, and Greek. He writes on a regular basis for several media outlets and has received the Manuel V\u00e1zquez Montalb\u00e1n Award for Journalism.<\/p>\n<p><u><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-792 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JMEsquirol-244x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"187\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JMEsquirol-244x300.jpg 244w, https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JMEsquirol.jpg 660w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 187px) 100vw, 187px\" \/><\/u><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rights-acantiladoqc.com\/authors\/josep-maria-esquirol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Josep Maria Esquirol<\/a> is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona where he teaches Contemporary Philosophy and is head of the Aporia research group, which studies the relationship between philosophy and psychiatry. He has published about a hundred articles in specialist publications, and a dozen books, notable amongst which are <em>Uno mismo y los otros <\/em>(2005), <em>El respeto o la mirada atenta<\/em> (2006), <em>El respirar dels diez<\/em> (2009), <em>Los fil\u00f3sofos contempor\u00e1neos y la t\u00e9cnica<\/em> (2011), (Quaderns Crema, 2018), <em>Hum\u00e0, m\u00e9s hum\u00e0<\/em> (Quaderns Crema, 2021) and, in particular, <em>La resist\u00e8ncia \u00edntima<\/em> (Quaderns Crema, 2015; in English, <em>The Intimate Resistance: A Philosophy of Proximity<\/em>, 2021) which, translated into Italian, Portuguese, English, and German, has received the City of Barcelona Prize and National Essay Prize.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sergi P\u00e0mies and Josep Maria Esquirol are among the authors who will be taking part in Spotlight, a new programme of events at the London Book Fair.
