Original Title: La magnitud de la tragèdia

A trumpeter eventually manages to achieve the dream that he has been clinging to for weeks: to go out with the star actress from the theatre where he works. In order to get up his courage, during the dinner he drinks a lot more than he thinks sensible. That is why he realises that he is so drunk that, if he actually manages to get her to bed, he probably will not be up to it. Such is the beginning of The Enormity of the Tragedy, a novel about love, hatred, loneliness, the irrevocable passage of time and the inevitability of death.
