The Englishman's DoorRequest more information
Original Title: La puerta del inglés
If the characters in this strange novel are (or could be) real, what are not, without doubt, real are many of the events that the author’s perverse imagination attributes to them for the reader’s enjoyment, the latter being the person who is responsible, in the end, with his arbitrary interpretations, for all literary works. What the author both celebrates and laments, in any case, is having proved to be incapable of distinguishing between reality and invention.
«The Englishman’s Door is literature in its purest state, the product of the quill of a rara avis literaria… a veritable display of humour».
Mª Ángeles Cabré, La Vanguardia
«An impeccable/implacable portrait of a generation… a species of divertimento of the highest possible voltage».
«Masoliver amazes us with a performance that includes everything from aphorisms of great lucidity to fits of madness which provide a general critique of the critics and the authors of the Spain of the present moment».
Xavier Moret, El País
