Original Title: La resistència íntima

Intimate Resistance is an attentive and profound essay on the human condition. Its author reveals how authentic care of the self gives light and warmth to those nearby, protecting them and serving as a guide for them. “We recognise that intimate resistance is the name of an experience that is close to proximity, a place that cannot be visited in a day, but is a habitual abode. Nowadays, however, it is hard to stay there. Proximity is not measured in metres or centimetres. Its opposite is not remoteness: rather, the ubiquitous monochrome of the world of technology. We have seen how the everyday and the gesture of home are very important modalities of the experience of proximity.”

Praises

«A luminous essay that exercises powerful reasons for not opting for nihilism, in order to combat the disintegration of the self and not give in to the power of actuality. Esquirol offers us very valuable pages on gesture, shelter, proximity and talent».
Jordi Llavina, La Vanguardia

«From just reading the first pages, I can see that it is going to revolutionise this kind of writing».
Albert Sáez, El Periódico

Robert Juan-Cantavella, El Mundo
