Original Title: Desde mi celda

“From a very early age, I was fascinated by letters, ink and paper. The blank sheet of paper and the possibility of filling it up with letters. I have never pretended to be a writer: these memoirs do not wish to be the memoirs of a writer. What I want to do is to write. And, just the same way that I learned to read music, after doing translations, writing reviews, articles, essays, stories, novels and poems, I have decided to write these memoirs.” And this is the book that the reader has in his hands, a new chapter in Masoliver’s artistic universe, which goes back once again to memory, not just as a subject but as a literary genre, and which offers us a daring text that is serene and intense in its beauty and its obsession. An arduous narrative exercise that seeks to understand, through its usual poetic sense and its humour, the human condition at its most crude: our finitude.

Praises

«This book exists through love of writing. It is a delight to read».
Juan Cruz, El País -Babelia

«Masoliver knows how to give voice to emotional force and to a lucid reflection upon the drama of man stuck in time. And he knows how to do so with a language that never loses its tension, its power and its expressiveness».
Diego Doncel, ABC

«The author, in a state of dissolution and dispossession, does not look into the page in order to recognise himself. It is well known that identity is memory, but the remains of the thousands of things that make us up whilst we recount them and readjust their order make us have our doubts even about that interior petty being that watches us looking at ourselves with amazement».
Aurelio Major, La Vanguardia
