Original Title: Correspondència (1952-1985)
“From the correspondence between those who know how to write we shall always be able to obtain […] the fullness of the serene beauty of well-pulsed words,” writes Enrique Baldosa. This volume contains the correspondence that two poets, J.V. Foix and Albert Manent, exchanged during more than thirty years of friendship. These letters, which touch on a large variety of themes, reveal clearly distinguishable facets of both writers’ characters: Foix, who in full creative spirit, often writes in rhymed verse, and Manent, younger but well on his way to achieving literary success. They enable the reader to get to know the political and cultural changes that occurred in 20th-century Catalonia from the perspective of two men of letters.
«The correspondence between J.V. Foix and Albert Manent reveals their capacity for creativity, as well as offering a chronicle of the literary life of the time. It is a linguistic feast!».
Jordi Amat, La Vanguardia
«The value of the correspondence lies in the fact that it depicts the thought and the work of J.V. Foix in the context of post-Civil War Catalonia. Many of the letters are veritable stylistic exercises».
Xavier Dilla, El País
