Essay

Original Title: Amables personajes

In this collection of essays, the designer, painter and architect Oscar Tusquets appears, above all, as an acute and unprejudiced observer who offers us a generous vision of the business of being an artist, in the most deeply human sense of the concept: the sense in which, leaving aside any inkling of pomposity, refers to the profession, the love and the knowledge of being an artist. His approach to art, to architecture and to the profession is at all times one that is deliberately far removed from any prejudices or preestablished attitudes: hence the radical and profound light that it directs on the subject. The personalities who serve as his point of departure and who make up this frieze are, as the author states in his title, people worthy of being loved.

Praises

«A joyful, pleasant and unprejudiced cocktail. Tusquets is a man who goes in for detail. He is instinctive and remarkably direct».
Leticia Blanco, El Mundo

«A sharp autobiography in which the author sets out the register of the personalities who have meant most to him in the course of his life».
Elena Hevia, El Periódico
