Original Title: Sol, i de dol
Alone, and In Mourning is one of the major works by J.V. Foix. Written over the years in the form of classical sonnets, it deals with most of the themes that the poet treated: belonging to a lineage, the search for permanence, transcendental eroticism and the ephemeral, pyrotechnical word play. All within a tradition, the Latin tradition, of which he wanted to feel part and to continue. Jaume Vallcorba, who worked with the poet for many years, prefaces this edition with a prologue that contains the keys to an understanding of the work.
