Josep Maria Esquirol

Josep Maria Esquirol is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Barcelona, where he teaches contemporary philosophy and is director of the research group Aporia, dedicated to the relationship between philosophy and psychiatry. He has published nearly a hundred articles in specialised journals, as well as a dozen books, among them Oneself and the Others (2005), Respect, or the Attentive Gaze (2006), The Breath of Days (2009), Contemporary Philosophers and Technique (2011) and, most especially, Intimate Resistance (Acantilado, 2015), which was awarded the City of Barcelona and the National Essay Prizes, as well as being translated into Italian, Portuguese, English and German; The Penultimate Good (Acantilado, 2018) and Human, More Human (Acantilado, 2021).
